Too bad it’s again a vender machine. At this moment I’ve seen enough of these. What I do like at this idea is the story behind it. This idea is stimulation of selling and reading books. You see,  last few years there’s a fall in sales of books by the advent of e-readers, smartphones and Tablets. Although I do not think the physical book will ever completely disappear, it is a good sign to bring the old books back in buisness.

Karl Lagerfeld give a total new meaning at the concept ‘bag’.  Opinions are divided about this new ‘invention’ of Lagerfeld and although I have my doubts about the functionality of the hula hoop bag I must admit that I find it well thought out. Because this year you will see a lot of ‘fun influences’ back in the appearance and living area’s.  We want more fun in our lives because we bullshit fact already had more than enough in recent years and this will find among other things, in these sectors. The hula-hoop bag of Lagerfeld is a very literal and good example to demonstrate this trend.

Cartoon bags

Designers Chay Sun and Rika Lin came up with a idea for a new kind of bag. Illustration bags. Inspired by cartoons but not losing there function.  The result is a line of colored bags and even though they are in 2D, your tablet, wallet, smartphone and other personal belongings fit anyway.

What I especially like about this concept is that reality and fantasy get together. It is a strange idea to walk around with something that looks like a comic book object. Chay Sun and Rika Lin have really good mimic and it looks so real!
