Holland’s next top deskresearcher !!

coolhunt 4, Bring new life in old rubbish!

what is it?

The Lodekka bus boutique is a remarkable hip-fashion store fitted ingeniously inside an old double-decker bus.

why is it cool?

I think this is cool because you use space and materials that already exist. I mean, that’s already made and not used any more. By this bus for example you don’t need any new produced materials which is advantageous for the transport costs and environment. Besides I think this is a creative way to think in other opportunity’s to live or work in. I think we really need this way of thinking because we live in a society that’s growing every day more and some commodities and materials aren’t soon available any more and we need replacement.

So my opinion, use the space, buildings and materials that already exicst or even better, think more creative and create some totally not standard like this bus that’s translated to a clothes store.

Creative Paradise, I like the way you art!

Feeling like a inflated seal today

Mijn buik praat tegen mij

what to do?

ooo wat haat hekel ik de winter..

No impact week

coolhunt 3, search for the differences

what is it?

Probably you see that this chair looks a lot on a garden spade. This chair (how appropriate) has the following name ‘Spade Seat’. This Spade Seat has made by Nic Roex of recycled metal.

why is it cool?

Roex realized that the scoop of the shovel embodies a similar form to the human buttocks. How cute! This chair is cool because I link it with the ‘nature’.  It’s a chair that is made of recycled material and it has a presence of a garden tool. So if you are a big fan of gardening this chair is a recommended. But I ask myself if it’s very comfortable..

coolhunt 2, recycle your trenchcoat

what is it?

This seat, made of old trech coats, I found on trendhunter.com. The RemadeUSA Ottoman is a hand-made production by Shannon South. She is the owner and founder of this seat and makes all of her leather products by hand from old jackets. You can even send your own jacket and she make a unique seat of it.

why is it cool?

The most amazing thing about this seat is that is made by old jackets. It’s not really obvious to use some old jackets for a seat, right? More obvious is to use other old seats or furniture.  I think to use something that have nothing to do with furniture is really cool. Besides is a experience product. After all, we al want something unique!  No single seat is the same and you can give it a personal touch. And okay, it’s also sustainable because you don’t have to kill more cow’s and avoid that the world will screwed up even more because some smelly cows affect the ozone!

coolhunt 1, Eco-bicycle

what is it?

This bicycle is made of cardboard by Phil Bridge who has studied ‘product Design’ at the Sheffield Hallam University in England. This bicycle isn’t made of  ‘normal’ cardboard but industrial cardboard. This material is a lot stronger and thicker as normal cardboard and used for packaging boxes. The only things that aren’t made of this type of cardboard are the wheels, chain and the bottom bracket. These are like every bicycle of metal, iron and other material. The price of this bicycle is about 35 to 40 euro’s.

why is it cool?

Phil’s idea was to build a bicycle of cardboard because it’s cheap so everyone can buy one and it makes it not really interesting for people who want to steal it. But I think it’s also a way of being sustainable because you can use old cardboards to produce this and if it’s broken you can recycle it really easy.
